Mr Peter J. Odle

The Chairman of the Board of Caribbean International Airways is Mr. Peter J. Odle. He is a dedicated hotelier by profession with more than twenty-five years in the industry. He owns four properties in Barbados along with a major catering operation and is Chairman of his entire business portfolio. Our Chairman is intimately involved with tourism both in Barbados and the region. Since 1984 he has been active in promoting the intra-and inter-Caribbean tourism product. Mr. Odle is the currently Vice President of the Caribbean Hotel Association and President Elect. In 2000 he was celebrated as Caribbean Hotelier of the Year. He has been elected President of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association on four occasions and still sits on their Board of Directors. He has served as a Director of the Barbados Tourism Authority for more than fifteen years.

Mrs. Joyce E. Dear

Mrs. Joyce E. Dear is Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Finance Committee. She holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Warwick, is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of the United Kingdom and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados. She worked with the accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) for 31 years, twenty-five as audit partner. With PwC she specialised in rendering audit and business advisory services to public companies, statutory corporations, international funding agencies/ government financed projects and programmes, as well as companies in the tourism and hospitality sector. Mrs. Dear has also served on other Boards of Directors including the largest general insurance company – the Insurance Corporation of Barbados.

Mr. Luther G. Miller

Mr. Luther G. Miller, Director, is the current Director of Finance and Resource Management – Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO). In that position he has oversight of the finances of the organization with special responsibility for resource management, preparation of budgets and financial statements. He also manages implementation of Organization of American States (OAS), Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and European Union (EU) technical and administrative programmes for the benefit of members of the CTO. Mr Miller is also a Director of the Barbados Tourism Authority and a number of other private sector companies.

Mr. Miller has presented more that 25 research papers and has published substantial works on tourism in Barbados, Anguilla, Curacao and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. In addition he had numerous speaking engagements on various aspects of tourism in North American and across the region.

Mr. Enric C. Connolly

Mr. Enric C. Connolly, Director, a Pharmacist, who is the Managing Director of Connolly’s Pharmacy, has been accredited for more than twenty-five years. In addition to his private sector employment he was for three years (1983 – 1986) the Caribbean Social Marketing Manager for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Mr. Connolly is also the Pharmaceutical Representative for the Barbados Drug Service. In addition he also sits on the Board of Management of the Deighton Griffith Secondary School and is a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Barbados South.

Mrs. Santa Amor Mottley

Mrs. Santa Amor Mottley, Director worked in the airline industry for several years, starting in 1963. She worked first with Trans Canada Airways – now Air Canada - and subsequently with British West Indies Airways [BWIA] in the area of Sales. She served as District Sales Manager for BWIA for a number of years where she had responsibility for increasing sales as well as for the training of staff in inter-personal skills, sales and marketing. As an entrepreneur Mrs. Mottley managed the Benetton Clothing store in Barbados for five years from 1990 – 1995 where her responsibilities included buying and the training and management of the staff. She has represented and promoted Barbados in international markets as a member of the Barbados Board of Tourism’s promotional team. Her interests include art and sculpture and many of her pieces can be found in homes internationally. She is also a founding member of the Barbados Gallery of Art and continues to serve on that Committee.

Mr. George E. Hinkson

Mr. George E. Hinkson, Director with his tremendous experience, is a trained Senior Teacher at one of our state-run primary schools and brings his analytical academic experience to bear on the business of the Board.

Mr. Hudson Wynter

Mr. Hudson Wynter, Director is employed with the Barbados Conference Services Ltd (BCSL) in the position of Chief Executive Officer. Before joining the Management team of BCSL, Mr. Wynter worked in the Banking industry for approximately twenty (20) years - for nine (9) of those years he held the position of Branch Manager. Mr Winter is a fellow of the Canadia Institute of Bankers.
