Our Security section works within the framework of the Barbados
Civil Aviation Security Policy and the Grantley
Adams Airport Security Plan both of which seek to protect
the safety, regularity and efficiency of international civil aviation.
We also work within the parameters and guidelines of the National
Aviation Security Programme and a Civil Aviation
Security Policy, International Standards and Recommended
Practices of the International Civil Aviation Organization
(ICAO). – Annex 17. Through
the efforts of this department, CAH provides airlines, passengers
and crew with a level of safety that all reasonable measures and
precautions have been taken to ensure their safety and security
as they depart Grantley Adams International Airport.
Training is an essential part of our competitive edge. Our staff
have been fully trained by the International Security
Defence System based in Texas and Grand Cayman, and by
our carriers. In an effort to ensure that our Security staff are
privy to the latest techniques and technologies in the industry
we have developed partnerships with other regional security firms
so that international experts can deliver, in seminars, intensive
instruction face to face or by distance, using print, videos,
DVD’s etc.
This CAH Security Team provides the following

mishandled baggage, hand baggage |

Physical examination of checked, transfer and / or mishandled
baggage and hand baggage as required |

Security of baggage in the baggage make-up area |

Guarding of designated areas |

Screening of passengers |

Physical examination of passengers as required |

Control of access to aircraft |

Search of aircraft |

Search and sealing of aircraft over-night |

Surveillance and guarding of aircraft on the apron |

Security check of catering up-lifts and identification of
catering staff at aircraft. |
The Team can also arrange for:

Identification of passengers prior to boarding |

Reconciliation of boarded passengers with their baggage |

Passengers to identify their own baggage |

Offloading of baggage of passengers who fail to board the
aircraft. |
At present, we provide Security services to Continental
Airlines, US Airways, Virgin
Atlantic Airways and bmi.
